A great base to explore Verona from
My girlfriend and I were in Verona for one night to see a show at the Arena. Adriano’s place is on the 4th floor (there’s a lift) of an otherwise unassuming block of flats. Our room was a good size, with a big bed, reasonably-sized ensuite bathroom with shower, and a balcony overlooking a quiet internal courtyard.
There was a ceiling fan but no aircon, but we found the temperature to be quite pleasant, even though it was hot outside. The wifi was fast and worked everywhere. We didn’t have any problems with noise during the night, either from other rooms or outside.
The communal areas were clean and well-stocked. There was a big breakfast selection including stuff in the fridge, as well as a small kitchen area for making your own food. Although we didn’t spend much time there, the dining room was comfortable and has a long balcony where we ate breakfast looking over the city.
The location is excellent. It takes less than five minutes to walk to Piazza Bra and the Arena, and from there to the top end of the old town around half an hour. We arrived by car, and the Arena car park is two minutes’ walk away. The entrance isn’t obvious from the street – it’s just a door to an apartment block – but the buzzer is clearly marked with Ariel B&B (it’s reached by Scala A).
Adriano was friendly and helpful. He showed us on a map where to go and what do when we arrived, and helped me find an iron for one of my shirts! And even though we arrived and left a bit earlier than we said we were going to, I was able to reach Adriano by phone and we didn’t have to wait around at all. He also emailed me after I made my booking to let me know information about my stay.
Overall, an excellent B&B that I would thoroughly recommend.
